Three cheers for the Glendale Highland Market. WE WON the Taste Local Award for Best Pop-Up, Food Event or Takeaway.
As the Awards organiser, I was privileged to know the result shortly after the Judging took place. Which meant I had to keep a big secret for weeks! We saw off very stiff competition from the magical Carters Cabin takeaway in Broadford. Yes, it is possible for a takeaway to be magical. This is what I’m talking about when I wax lyrical about the amazing Food & Drink culture on Skye! We also made it very difficult for the judges, by being in the same category as the very gorgeous, and achingly cute, Buth Bheag Deli in Kyle.
We won in the end on account of our unarguable 100% local food credentials.
I collected the award on behalf of all the local stallholders who pitch up every week in the summer, even when it rains. A
