Where is Glendale?
Glendale Village is on the way to Neist Point from Dunvegan.
The Glendale Estate
Glendale Village is also at the heart of an 18,000 acre landmass, the Glendale Estate.
The Estate, is a very special place. As a direct result of their resistance to the highland clearances, the Estate was negotiated and bought by the local crofting community in 1908. It has been managed by those that live there ever since!
You will meet many of us topping up our monthly shop at the Glendale Highland Market. We are always happy to chat to tourists and share our history. But be quick, we know the market is popular and get there when it opens.
Below are some of the attractions in Glendale. However Skye is a big place with lots to see and do. For more local information with Glendale and across Skye we suggest the following websites.
Attractions in and around Glendale
There is plenty to explore in Glendale. Mostly wild walks and whale watching, that can keep you occupied for days. But if you hanker after a sophistication usually found in the smart districts of big cities we can offer that too. The World Famous and Multi Award Winning Three Chimney’s Restaraunt sits on the shores of the Glendale Estate and is as breathtaking as it is isolated.
Below is a list of attractions on the Glendale Estate. If you are only visiting us for a day we reccomend the Glendale Summer Itinerary outlined at the bottom of this page.
